about

I grew up in southern Germany, at the foot of the Swabian Alb. Journalism played an early role in my life: my father was a journalist, and several daily newspapers were on the breakfast table every morning.
After graduating from high school and completing my civil service, I went to Vienna to study.
At the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, I studied art with a focus on drawing and graphic design, and later journalism (FH Vienna). The combination of these two fields formed the basis of my current work in visual journalism—from reports and documentaries to visually sophisticated explanatory videos.
After several years as an editor, reporter, and producer at NZZ (Neue Zürcher Zeitung) and SRF (Swiss Radio and Television), I now work as a freelance journalist and motion designer for various media outlets and teach journalism and media management at the University of Applied Sciences in Vienna. I live with my family in Vienna.
